On Saturday, September 28, 2024, the Sonophilia Foundation brought the magic of creativity to life at a heartwarming and inspiring Sonophilia Salon hosted by Lisa and Stefan Beckers at their beautiful residence in Tongeren, Belgium.
A gathering of passionate individuals—twenty members of the Sonophilia community, including founders Seda and Matthias Röder, alongside curious guests from all walks of life—came together for an unforgettable day of dialogue, music, and reflection. United by a common purpose, they explored the deep connection between creativity, sustainability, and peace-making, sparking new ideas to shape a brighter future.
The event was filled with moments that stirred hearts and minds. Seda Röder, Sonophilia co-founder, inspired attendees with her powerful insights on creativity as a catalyst for personal growth, social innovation, and lasting impact. Catherine Beckers, at just 13 years old, moved the room with her poignant message about the damaging effects of bullying on creative thinking. Her courage and wisdom underscored the need for nurturing environments where imagination can thrive, free from judgment and fear. And to top it all off, renowned Dutch pianist and composer Pieter de Graaf enchanted everyone with an impromptu piano performance, illustrating the power of spontaneity in art.
In a heartfelt moment, Seda Röder expressed her gratitude: “The Beckers truly embody the essence of Sonophilia—community, creativity, and collaboration. Together, we are building a world where creativity can flourish, and where positive change feels not only possible but inevitable.”
Stefan Beckers echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are proud to give back by creating spaces like the Sonophilia Salon, where ideas blossom, connections are deepened, and creativity is the driving force behind positive change.”
But the commitment to creativity doesn’t stop there. The Sonophilia Foundation—a Munich-based non-profit dedicated to fostering creativity for all—has an exciting announcement. We are now offering scholarships for groundbreaking research on creativity. We believe that by investing in the power of human imagination, we can unlock solutions for some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
